Promotion of the Faculty Members under Career Advancement Scheme
Assistant Professor :
Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with AGP of Rs. 6,000 to 7,000       
Criteria:
  • Must clear relevant NET/SLET etc. within two years after regular appointment, however, there will be exemption for those who have done M.Tech. from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology having B. Tech or M. Tech degrees or M.B.B.S., M.D., M.S.
  • Assistant Professor completed four years of service with Ph.D, five years of service with M.Phil / PG Degree in Professional Courses such as M.Tech, M.V.Sc., M.D.
  • Published at least four research papers in referred National / International Journal having Impact Factor of two or above (Thomson Reuters index journals) or NAAS Rating of 04.00 (NAAS rated journals) during the assessment Period.
  • Supervised at least four UG and two PG thesis during the assessment period.
  • Attended one Orientation and one Refresher course of 3 – 4 weeks duration, two Workshops or Trainings of one week duration and two Conferences / Seminars of 2 – 3 days duration during the assessment period.
  • *Been duly evaluated and forwarded by the HoD, and sent by School Dean on Prescribed format.
  • Been recommended by the screening committee and then approved by the Hon’bleVice Chancellor / Board of Management of SHUATS, for promotion.
  • *Note: Evaluation will also include – preparing & following of Class Schedule, Monthly Teaching Report and Evaluation of concerned Faculty Member by Students during every semester


Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 with AGP of Rs. 7,000 to 8,000
Criteria:
  • Assistant Professor with completed service of five years at AGP of Rs.7000
  • Published at least four research papers in referred National / International Journal having Impact Factor of two or above (Thomson Reuters index journals) or NAAS Rating of 4.00 (NAAS rated journals) during the assessment Period.
  • Supervised at least eight UG, four PG and two Ph.D. thesis as advisor / Co – advisor during his / her assessment period. (if Ph.D. available in the department).
  • Attended two Refresher courses or Summer / Winter Schools of 3 – 4 weeks duration, two Workshops or Trainings of one week duration and two Conferences / Seminars of 2 – 3 days duration during the assessment period.
  • Organized at least two National or International Seminars / Conferences / Workshops of 2 – 3 days duration during the assessment period. (as organizing Secretary / member of the Organizing Committee)
  • PI/Co-PI of at least one sponsored research projects from outside funding agency/council/body
  • *Been duly evaluated and forwarded by the HoD, and sent by Institute/College/School Dean on Prescribed format.
  • Been recommended by the screening committee and then approved by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor / Board of Management of SHUATS, respectively, for promotion.
  • *Note: Evaluation will also include – preparing & following of Class Schedule, Monthly Teaching Report and Evaluation of concerned Faculty Member by Students during every semester.


Associate Professor
Rs. 15,600 – 39100 with AGP Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 with AGP Rs. 9,000
Criteria:
  • Assistant Professors with three years of completed service in the AGP of Rs.8000 and have been awarded Ph.D. degree on or before the date of completion of three years service.
  • Published at least four papers in referred National / International Journal during assessment period having Impact Factor of two or above (Thomson Reuters index journals) or having NAAS Rating of 4.00 in NAAS rated Journals.
  • Supervised at least eight PG and three Ph.D. thesis as advisor / Co – advisor in six Ph.D. thesis in totality. (if Ph.D. available in the department)
  • Attended one Summer / Winter Schools of 3 – 4 weeks duration and two workshops or trainings of 3 – 7 days duration during the assessment period.
  • Organized at least one National or International Seminars / Conferences / Workshops of 2 – 3 days duration during the assessment period. (as Organizing Secretary / member of the Organizing Committee)
  • PI/Co-PI of at least one Sponsored research projects funded by outside agencies/councils/bodies.
  • *Been duly evaluated and forwarded by the HoD, and sent by Institute/College/School Dean on Prescribed format to DHRMR.
  • DHRMR will screen the application and arrange an interview, after obtaining approval from Vice Chancellor.
  • The Selection Committee shall constitute of the following members:
  • i. The Vice Chancellor or his nominee to be the Chairperson of the Selection Committee.
    ii. Three experts in the concerned subject out of the panel of names approved by the Vice Chancellor
    iii. Pro Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs
    iv. Pro Vice Chancellor Administration
    v. Director HRMR
    vi. Jit. Director, HRMR
    vii. Dean of the concerned Faculty
    viii. Dean of the concerned School
    ix. Concerned Head of the Department
    x. An academician nominated by the Vice Chancellor

    Note: At least seven members, including three outside subject experts shall constitute the quorum.

  • Been recommended by the Selection Committee and then approved by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor / Board of Management of SHUATS, respectively, for promotion.
  • *Note: Evaluation will also include – preparing & following of Class Schedule, Monthly Teaching Report and Evaluation of concerned Faculty Member by Students during every semester.


Professor
Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 with AGP of Rs. 10,000
Criteria:
  • Associate Professor with three years of completed service in the AGP of Rs. 9,000.
  • Published at least four papers in referred National / International Journal during assessment period having impact factor of two or above (Thomson Reuters index journals) or having NAAS rating of 4.00 in NAAS rated Journals.
  • Supervised at least twelve PG and four Ph.D. thesis in totality (if Ph.D. available in the department).
  • Attended two workshops / trainings / Conference / Seminar of 3 – 7 days duration during the assessment period.
  • Organized at least two National or International Conference / Seminar / Workshop / Training of 2 – 3 days duration during the assessment period. (as Organizing Secretary / member of the Organizing Committee)
  • PI of at least one Sponsored research projects funded by outside agencies/councils/bodies.
  • Author of At least one Book (s) / Book (s) edited.
  • Provide consultancy through outside agencies / bodies / institutions.
  • Conducted training / acted as resource person at the training in relevant area.
  • Registered at least one Patent.
  • *Been duly evaluated and forwarded by the concerned HoD and Institute/College/School Dean on Prescribed format to DHRMR.
  • DHRMR will screen the application and arrange an interview, after obtaining approval from Vice Chancellor.
  • The Selection Committee shall constitute of the following members:
  • i. The Vice Chancellor to be the Chairperson of the Selection Committee or his nominee

Criteria:
  • Professor with 10 years of completed service.
  • Additional administrative responsibilities at the higher level of the University. (Institute/College/School Dean / Faculty Dean / Dean P.G. Studies / Controller of Examination / Director / Registrar / Pro Vice Chancellor)
  • Chairperson/Member of the top level committees.
  • *Been duly evaluated and forwarded by the concerned HoD, and Institute/College/School Dean on Prescribed format.
  • Been recommended by the Screening Committee and then approved by the Vice Chancellor / Board of Management of SHUATS, for promotion.
  • Note:Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on the behalf of the Board of Management, SHUATS, upon the recommendation of the Screening Committee may relax any of the qualifications for promoting Teachers, under the CAS, in the University.
