Directorate of Seed & Farm
State level sanction committee, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh under the project "Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna" has approved and sanctioned six projects as regard to production of seeds of various crops. In this regard there was an urgent need to establish a Directorate of Seeds in the University to administer and execute various modules of such projects. 



The list of six sanctioned projects are as under :-

5. Establishment of soil health clinic. 3 Years
6 Bio-intensive insect pest management strategies in chickpea under Northern-Eastern UP. 3 Years


Directorate organizes Agricultural and related activities of Auxiliary Units, SHUATS in two sections viz. Agro- research farm and Dairy farm (forage production farm). Master and layout plan with proper approachable roads, irrigation network, offices, storage structures, sheds and plots of suitable size are designed under the supervision of the Director. Fish ponds as an auxiliary unit with supporting components for demonstration, recreation and commercial production are monitored by the Director. He does crop planning and its execution for different seasons. Varietal orchard trials of horticulture unit are done under his supervision.

Director provides land for research to various departments viz. Plant Protection, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Horticulture, Agronomy etc. This is the responsibility of the Director to develop on campus SHUATS Farm as a Model Farm for teaching and research.
