A Clinical Laboratory Science is a branch of medical science that develops a healthcare professional with excellent skills to perform laboratory analyses in all departments of a clinical laboratory, using samples from the human body. The analysis is performed on body fluids such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, and body fluids such as cerebrospinal, peritoneal, pericardial and synovial fluids, as well as other specimens. The Clinical Laboratory Science provides invaluable information for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of disease, using sophisticated biomedical instruments to generate accurate and reliable test results. In the department of clinical laboratory science the courses offered provides trained laboratory technicians who can perform Biochemical, Hematological, Immunological, Histopathological, Cytological, and Microscopic and Bacteriological analysis with accuracy and precision. They can work in hospitals, private clinical labs as well as research labs. Lab Facilities
The department has well equipped laboratory for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral program with different sections like-Microbiology and Histopathology lab, Hematology and Clinical Biochemistry lab and Anatomy and Physiology laboratory. Besides the laboratories our students are posted in Hayes Memorial Mission Hospital of SHUATS for hospital posting.
